It is a luxury brand outlet online shopping site - Gucci, Prada, to Ed Hardy to many other brands at great price.
Nothing new, right? Brand, Outlet, and Online Shopping...etc etc.
Well, they are not quite the same because it is invitation basis only and turn over rate is one week ( one brand only sold for one week or less ) and most importantly, items are at great discounts. So they became quite succesful.
I saw a TV clip few years ago when GILT GROUPE just came to Japan - they had first class stylist actually walking into the warehouse of these luxury brand name stores and pick the last seasons or buy overstocked items at great price.
Another TV clip I saw was showing typical housewife sitting in front of PC to place order as soon as the brand goes on sale at 21:00 PM. Yes, lots of items are sold in few seconds !
They expanded from the initial fashion outlet line, they now have jewelry, lingere, housewares, some even restaurant tickets! Of course at amazing discounts.
